Lawyers say health and safety cuts put workers at risk
Personal injury lawyers are anticipating a dramatic rise in workplace accidents as a result of today's announcement by Work and Pensions Minister, Chris Grayling MP, that they will cut 11,000 workplace health and safety inspections.
Over recent years personal injury lawyers have experienced a marked increase in work coming from workplace accidents which it attributes to employers taking a less rigorous approach to health and safety.
Post-accident fines for firms guilty of neglecting health and safety is unlikely to encourage good practice, it is more likely to foster a cover up culture with accident victims being victimised
