Textile expert to chair BSI Committee

Ian Strudwick, technical manager at Manchester based textile testing laboratory, Shirley Technologies, has been appointed chairman of an industry supervisory committee.

Mr Strudwick is responsible for the analytical and investigative services of STL, a subsidiary of BTTG Ltd, including expert witness reports and testimony, microbiology and toy testing.

He also has responsibility for customer technical enquiries and market development.

Strudwick has been named chairman of the BSI Committee TCI/81 (Colour Fastness and Colour Measurement of Textiles).

The position sets the UK's position on standards relating to colour fastness and colour measurement testing of textiles in relation to global standards.
