New Fathers for Justice want to clean up family law.
Jason Sands, is a spokesman for New Fathers for Justice, a group dedicated to campaigning for improved rights for fathers in the settlement of child custody. Mr Sands is planning to attend law courts across the south carrying a cleaning in progress sign and a vacuum cleaner, whilst dressed as super-hero Batman.
Previously the group have grabbed media attention by organising demonstrations around the country dressed as super-heroes and Mr Sands is planning on media attention with his Clean Up Family Law stunt.
Should the court deem that he is excessively disrupting proceedings, Mr Sands risks being found in contempt of court which could lead to legal action against him.
What New Fathers for Justice are campaigning for, is Family Court cases to be opened up to the general public to ensure fair dealing, and that the presumption in any trial should be 50/50 custody between the parents.
New laws came into force in April this year giving greater access for media to family courts, but the media still cannot report any matters that may concern a child unless give specific permission by the court.
