Law Society to promote use of specialist family lawyers

President of the Law Society, Paul Marsh has issued a statement urging the public to use specialist family lawyers if they are considering a divorce. Predictions are that January 2009 will be one of the busiest ever for family law advisers. Mr Marsh highlighted the potential pitfalls of not seeing a solicitor although getting a divorce is a relatively straightforward process. What is much more complex is sorting out the practical issues such as living arrangements, division of assets, and arrangements for any children. So before agreeing matters with your partner it is advisable to consult a family law specialist solicitor who will advise you about your rights and the options available to you. Mr Marsh also highlighted the growing use and benefits of collaborative law as a means to help the public from going to court.
